Newsletter from Kasugai plant
The silica gel products we pursue daily under our “One Customer One Grade” philosophy are currently supplied from three domestic plants. Kasugai plant is the oldest plant of the three plants in Japan. It has been over 60 years since we started silica production.
We produce “SYLYSIA” as micronized silica and “CHROMATOREX” for chromatography in Kasugai plant and always keep in mind thorough quality control and stable production.
Then, from now on we would like to introduce it around Kasugai plant.
The closest station is Kozoji station on the JR Line and Aichi Loop Railway.
To the north is the Kozoji New Town which is a commuter town of the Nagoya area.

It takes about ten minutes to walk southwest from Kozoji station to Kasugai plant. During production, steam is rising from the chimney, so you might be able to figure out the approximate location. If you can see a building with a blue stripe on a white background, there are the head office and the plant office.

To the south of plant, there is the Shonai River which is large river in this area, both river width and riverbed are wide. Looking to the upstream, you can see the river flowing from the mountains and Mt. Togoku to the southeast and Mt. Takakura to the northeast. Around plant coexist with filled with nature despite being a commuter town.

Recommend tourist spot nearby is “Togokusan Fruits Park” .
It is an agricultural park and located at the foot of Mt. Togoku.
There are various facilities, “Fruits farm” and “World Tropical Fruit Tree Greenhouse” and so on. Fruit picking experiences are also being held.

There are many ancient tombs around Mt. Togoku to Shonai river. One of them is “Shidami Kofungun Experience Museum”.
It is said “microcosm of Japan’s Kofun period”, and there are various kofun throughout all the kofun periods.
This area may have thrived a long time ago.

Then there is the “Aigi Tunnel Group”, which is the abandoned railway track of the old National Railways Central Line connecting Kasugai and Tajimi.
It is registered as a national tangible cultural property and open to the public twice a year, in spring and autumn, for a limited time. You can enjoy it as a little-known tourist spot where you can stroll through the fresh greenery of spring and the autumn leaves.
During event periods, you may often see guidance at Kozoji station. If you are nearby, how about considering it as a destination for your outing?
