SYLYSIA FCP is a high purity and porous amorphous silica-gel used in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, personal care and cosmetic industries.
The amorphous structure of the silica-gel is safely handled and non-carcinogenic.
The high purity of SYLYSIA FCP, is no less than 99.7% silicon dioxide, chemically inert, odorless and tasteless. It has been deemed safe by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare and is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) under U.S. FDA regulations for direct and indirect contact.

PURPOSE
Application
・Drying, Free Flow and Anti-Caking
The presence of moisture can be devastating to powdered foods and pharmaceutical applications. Moisture can dissolve crystalline structures, cause adhesion between particles and prematurely activate ingredients prior to use. Many formulators seek compounds that will maintain their fluidity and not cake during storage. SYLYSIA FCP is engineered for both storage capacity and high absorbance to ensure proper flow over time with loadings as low as 0.25 – 1.0%. The individual silica particles prevent caking by interfering with agglomerations that might form, while the particles’ pores absorb ambient moisture preventing deliquescence and other side effects from the presence of moisture.
・Tableting
SYLYSIA FCP silica may improve the ease of powder flow through your production process providing more accurate dosage levels for tablets or capsule products. The silica particles aid in the full and complete release from molds by minimizing sticking. The high moisture capacity can provide longer shelf life for your products as well as providing a wicking action when your tablet is dispersed in water. In both wet and dry granulation processes, the addition of SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel speeds up screening and improves flow to compression.
・Active Ingredient Carrier
The inert chemical nature of SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel stabilizes fragrance, color, separation, adhesion, thickening and fluidity. The porosity of the silica-gel can absorb liquid ingredients for dispersing in dry or liquid systems. For fragrances, the porosity of silica-gel has the ability to function as a time-release agent.
・Powdering Liquids
The high porosity of SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel enables it to absorb nearly three times its weight in liquids. Liquid ingredients can be made into powders for integration into any desired application.
・Cosmetics/Personal Care
SYLYSIA FCP can be used for a variety of functions in makeup and personal care products. It can assist sebum control, oil and sweat absorption, help control facial shine or add a smooth and silky feel for foundations and cosmetics. Other grades can be used as mild to course abrasive exfoliates to remove dirt and polish skin or impart a soft, powdery and dry feel to the skin.
